And the winner is...
Melanoma...at least that is what the doctor thinks it is. (I had pretty much diagnosed it the same.) He has scheduled a biopsy for next Wednesday with my favorite surgeon. He wanted to set me up with a plastic surgeon but Dr. Sheppard did such a great job with my other incisions that I want him to do this one also. Dr. Waples agreed that he would be a good pick for this. (Why would I want to add ANOTHER doctor to my seemingly endless string of doctors?)
He also set me up with a mammogram (which was originally scheduled for the 20th of July but I missed...oops) and he got really creative and also set me up for my first colonoscopy. I had one of those set up when we lived in Florida but we were in the middle of moving to Alabama so I had canceled it. Honestly, I've been avoiding it like the plague. I hear the prep for it is horrendous. Ah well, I can't get out of that one now. Apparently, my oncologist keeps up with all of these kinds of cancer screening tests. O Joy. My bloodwork came out good enough. My white and red cells are on the lowest side of normal but they ARE within the normal range so I feel good about that. Dr. Waples said my body is still in recovery so don't be expecting miracles just yet. Whatever...I believe in miracles so I will continue to expect them. 8-)
So now you have the rest of the story for what it's worth...
Because God is who He is, I am not worried about this new twist in my life....here is some Max for you that reminds us that God is there through all our storms.
"I Am Who I Am
By Max Lucado
“Take courage, it is I; do not be afraid.” Matthew 14:27 NASB
Waves slapping his waist and rain stinging his face, Jesus speaks to [the disciples] at once. “Courage! I am! Don’t be afraid!”
Speaking from a burning bush to a knee-knocking Moses, God announced, “I AM WHO I AM” (Exodus 3:14 NASB).
God gets into things! Red Seas, Judean wildernesses, weddings, funerals, and Galilean tempests. Look and you’ll find what everyone from Moses to Martha discovered. God is in the middle of our storms."

Prep isn't as bad as people make it sound. Keep the liquid prep cold, and it goes down better. :-) When they put you under, you wake up SOOOooo rested! :-)
